CLS realizes Europe’s largest LED retail lighting project: Zoomers City Store Den Bosch.

Zoomers Citystore Den Bosch is situated in the former general post office of ‘s-Hertogenbosch, a prominent landmark in the old City Centre. The total store space mounts up to a 3.000 m2. More than 2700 CLS LED fixtures have been used in the project. We are extremely proud as the pictures speak for themselves.

The costs savings were huge in this project. Not only are the energy savings about 70%, as a result of decreased power consumption the investments in the electrical infrastructure were much lower resulting in the fact that conventional lighting would have been more expensive as the investment in the CLS LED lighting plan has been.

For optimum lighting of all the clothing and lifestyle products on display, a combination of REVO Track– and Ultima Track rail fixtures was chosen. For each department these fixtures were specifically produced with an appropriate finish: for the ladies’ department mainly white fixtures were used and for the men’s department most fixtures have a black finish. Because REVO and Ultima fixtures can be fitted with a variety of lens options, the result is an exciting lighting scheme in which all clothing and accessories are displayed in a visually attractive shopping experience.

As downlighters, a combination of the CLS Luxo 6 and the new CLS Ultima series was installed. Configuration and finish of these fixtures was determined per department.

For shelf lighting, the CLS Power Strip GII was chosen, a linear lighting product which combines high light output with extremely compact dimensions. Furthermore, CLS Luxo 3 fixtures were installed in corridors, fitting rooms and several general areas.

CLS uses a special selection of LEDs, ensuring an optimum colour reproduction of the clothes and accessories on display. This special selection of LEDs is therefore perfectly suitable for retail applications, but also offers very good results for galleries and museums.

Responsible for the lighting design is Gerben Wolters from VDI installatietechniek. VDI has not only designed and fitted the lighting plan , but they have been responsible for all technical installations of the entire project.

The Dutch retailbureau retailLAB developed and designed the new and exciting ZOOMERS CITY STORE in Time and on budget.True to the ZOOMERS motto ‘A CELEBRATION of Fashion’, architect Hans van den Hout and his team gave this building a total make-over: here shopping becomes an experience ! Alongside world famous fashion brands, the new store offers a whole range of interior-design and life-style products.
